We wanted something to soften, animate and colour this landscape of highway interchanges in Qatar’s desert. Seven spires, each containing eighteen masts thirty-five metres tall, spiral open in a matter of seconds. They are pure white and softly lit at night. The project was fully engineered before budget cuts put the project on hold. One of a number of projects designed for Doha’s road network.
